Pick up from your hotel lobby at 0730 and make a scenic drive for 3 hours to Poring Hot Spring. The journey will take you pass some traditional and scenic villages, paddy fields and lush green forest along the mountainous road. A brief stop along the way for photo shots of Mount Kinabalu(weather permitted) and at Pekan Nabalu – a collection of native stalls selling fruits, vegetables, local produce and handicrafts – an opportunity to observe the local stall activities.

At Poring Hot Spring, it is a must to visit the Canopy Walkway, which is about 41m above the ground (it allows you to enjoy the serenity of the rainforest from a different angle) OR you can jungle trek for 45 minutes to reach Kopungit Waterfall. Then soak yourself in an open-air tub fed by hot sulphurous underground springs – believed to have therapeutic benefits for skin care and aching muscles. Other attractions include Butterfly Farm, Orchid Conservation Centre and Tropical Gardens.

After lunch at a local restaurant,  there are several OPTIONAL fascinating destinations guests may want to visit before proceeding to Kinabalu National Park such as Luanti Village (a community-based project, offering a unique experience of ‘fish massage’), Kundsang War Memorial (a commemoration of the brave Australian and British Prisoners of War who died during the infamous death marches during World War II) and Sabah Tea Garden (the only organic tea farm in Borneo). At the park’s Mountain Garden, guests can enjoy the majestic view of Mount Kinabalu (the highest mountain in South East Asia), the cool and refreshing mountain air, listening to the sounds of the jungle and learning some interesting endemic plants, trees, orchids and butterflies. Then transfer back to Kota Kinabalu. END OF SERVICE
