Duration: 7 Days & 6 Nights
Day 1
MASwings/MH3093: ETD 0800 & ETA 0950
Pick up at the airport and proceed for 30 minutes drive to Tawau Hill Parks. Upon arrival, register and check-in. Have your lunch at 1200 and by 1400 begin to jungle trek for 1 hour to reach Sulphur Spring. Then continue trekking for another 30 minutes to reach Gelas Waterfall. Enjoy a refreshing dip at the pool. By 1600 continue trekking for another 40 minutes to reach the tallest tropical tree in the world, standing beyond 88 metres. Then return to the accommodation and get ready for dinner, served at 1900. Guests are free at leisure in the evening.
Day 2
Wake up call at 0530 and by 0600 proceed for a bird watching activity; birds commonly found in this area include spider hunter, burl burl, fly catcher, fan-tail, pitta, pigeon and tronggo. Then make your way to the restaurant for breakfast, served at 0730. Guests are free at leisure (or enjoy a refreshing dip at the nearby river or visit the botanical garden). By 1000 start to jungle trek for 6-7 hours through virgin rainforest before reaching the hostel. After a good rest, prepare our own dinner (basic cooking utensils are provided). Generator is switched off after 2100 – a perfect setting for insect observation or star gazing (weather permitted). The night is cold and windy, may even be rainy.
Day 3
Wake up call at 0530 and after having an early self-prepared breakfast, by 0630 begin your climb for 1½ hours to reach the forested peak of Mount Lucia (1189m). By 0800 begin your descend back to the hostel. After a short rest, by 0930 begin to descent to the park’s main building (ETA 1400). Freshen up and have a late lunch at the restaurant. Check into the accommodation to rest (or enjoy a refreshing dip at the nearby river or visit the botanical garden). Guests are free at leisure after dinner.
Day 4
Wake up call at 0530. After having an early breakfast, by 0700 depart for Tawau Airport. Meet a representative from Borneo Divers Mabul Resort at Tawau Airport at 0745. Then transfer to Semporna by van/ coach for approximately 1½ hours journey. Departing for Mabul at 1000 and the boat journey is for 45-60 minutes. Upon arrival at Borneo Divers Mabul Resort; attend a briefing, register and check into a semi- detached chalet. Lunch is served at noon time. There will be 02 Boat-Dives (one of them is an orientation with a dive-master).
Day 5 & 6
03 Boat-Dives (with Divemaster): Combination of Sipadan / Si Amil / Mantabuan / Kapalai / Mabul.
NOTE: DIVING AT SIPADAN IS NOT GUARANTEED!
Day 7
NOTE: NO DIVING 24 HOURS BEFORE TAKING YOUR RETURN FLIGHT. Departing from Mabul at 0600 to Semporna (make sure you have settled all your bills the night before to avoid delays). Arrive at Tawau Airport after 0830 to catch your return flight to Kota Kinabalu. MASwings/MH3092: ETD 1010 & ETA 1200. END OF SERVICE. |
