AT-L01A: 4 Hours: Kota Kinabalu City Tour

Duration: 4 Hours

Experience the beauty of multi-racial community, see places of interest and learn its historical background. Formerly known as Jesselton and was renamed Kota Kinabalu soon after the formation of the Federation of Malaysia on 16th September 1963. Being the State capital of Sabah, it is the centre of entertainment, culture and business activities.

ITINERARY: (Note: Meals are at own arrangement – unless stated)

Meet at hotel lobby (0900 or 1400) or upon arrival at KKIA and proceed with half day KK City tour. Visit places of interest around the city such as Tun Mustapha Building (previously known as Sabah Foundation), Likas Floating Mosque, University Malaysia Sabah, Observatory Tower at Signal Hill, City Centre, State Museum and State Mosque. Lunch (or Dinner) will be organised during this tour. Then a transfer to your hotel (or airport). END OF SERVICE.

AT-L02A: Full Day: Tip Of Borneo & Bavanggazo Cultural Village

Duration: Full Day

A journey through scenic countryside to the north of Kudat, passing views of paddy fields, traditional villages, plantations and local stalls selling handicraft and food items. Seeing the Rungus (a Dusunic Tribe) still living in a longhouse is such a lifetime experience. The community is very enterprising where the main economic activities include producing honey and making gongs. Kudat’s newest attraction is Simpang Mengayau, the northern most Tip of Borneo where Sulu and South China Seas meet. On a clear day, the outlaying islands of the Philippines can be seen from this point.

ITINERARY: (Note: Meals are own arrangement – unless stated)

Pick up from your hotel lobby at 0800 hours and make a 3-hour journey to the North of Sabah, passing through local villages with scenic countryside view. If the day happens to be on Sunday, make a stop for ½  hour to visit the TAMU BESAR – Open market in Kota Belud . Then continue your journey to Bavanggazo Cultural Village in Mantunggong; a Rungus Longhouse constructed entirely of traditional materials but with added modern comforts (such as toilets and showers) - you get the opportunity to get a taste of real Rungus living through their food, daily rituals and music. Have lunch in Rungus traditional style before departing for Tanjung Simpang Mengayau where the South China Sea meets the Sulu Sea. Relax on beautiful secluded beaches of Tip of Borneo and swim in the clear blue waters. Then a long journey back to Kota Kinabalu. END OF SERVICE.

AT-L03A: 6 Hours: Kota Belud Sunday Market

Duration: 6 Hours

In the olden days, this weekly market was held on neutral where various indigenous tribes would meet to barter trade their goods. Kota Belud is also known as the “Land of the Cowboys of the East”. Nowadays, vendors of different ethnic groups come from all over the West Coast and Interior to sale their products in a large open-air market from herbal medicine, local vegetables, plants, tropical fruits, handicraft, etc.

ITINERARY: (Note: Meals are own arrangement – unless stated)

After breakfast at the hotel, meet at hotel lobby by 0730 and make a journey of 2 hours to Kota Belud (ETA 1000). Along the journey you will see views of paddy fields, traditional villages, scenic valleys, Mount Kinabalu, etc. Kota Belud is the land for the Bajau, a local native tribe who are popularly known as the Cowboy of the East. After lunch, depart from Kota Belud (ETD1230) and on the way back to Kota Kinabalu, stop over at Tuaran to visit the local market and experience walking across a hanging bridge. The next stop is at a local pottery factory. Then transfer back to your hotel in Kota Kinabalu. END OF SERVICE.

AT-L04A: 4 Hours: Monsopiad Cultural Village

Duration: 4 Hours

This is the only cultural village in Sabah to commemorate the legendary “Head Hunter Warrior” named Monsopiad and also offers an insight of the past pagan era of the Kadazan people.  His ‘trophies’ of 42 skulls have been kept until today in the existing “House of Skulls”.

ITINERARY: (Note: Meals are at own arrangement – unless stated)

After breakfast at the hotel, meet at hotel lobby by 0900 and transfer to Monsopiad Cultural Village (ETA 0945). This village offers an interactive experience and fascinating insight into the daily lives and traditional beliefs of the Kadazandusun people. Have a go at traditional games and sports, walk on the hanging bridge, visit traditional houses, taste local rice wine, participate In traditional dances and test your skills on the blowpipe!  Follow the guided tour around Monsopiad then transfer (ETD 1230) to your hotel. AT-L05A: 6 Hours: Linangkit Cultural Village

Duration: 6 Hours

This Cultural Village offers an authentic insight of the culture, food and heritage of the Lotud community in Tuaran which has been preserved and passed down for generations. This is an educational journey to appreciate the richness of one of Sabah’s few remaining traditional and heritage escapades.   

ITINERARY: (Note: Meals are at own arrangement – unless stated)

After breakfast at the hotel, meet at hotel lobby by 0900 and make a journey of one hour to Tuaran market (Tamu is on Sundays ONLY). Along the way, you will be passing traditional villages and picturesque paddy fields. Visit Tuaran town and its colourful market to get a glimpse of the locals’ way of life. After having lunch at 1230, proceed to Linangkit Cultural Village (ETA 1300). Then proceed for a guided tour to Lotud Museum to learn about Lotud’s unique heritage and the life of this community in the ancient days. Depart from the village park (ETD1500) and transfer back to hotel. END OF SERVICE.

AT-L06A: Full Day: Sabah Agriculture Park & Murut Cultural Centre

Duration: Full Day

Tenom is a small town in the interior of Sabah and the indigenous community living here is called Murut (means "Men of the Hills"). The main attractions in Tenom are Murut Cultural Centre which displays the legacy of unique Murut Culture and the world-famous Sabah Agriculture Park which is a 1,500-acre of educational agro-tourism park. 

ITINERARY: (Note: Meals are own arrangement – unless stated)

Depart from your hotel at 0700 and drive for 3 hours to Tenom, passing through scenic villages and highland. 0700 hours. Upon arrival; register and take a leisure walk through the Park to explore the wonders of tropical plants – various botanical gardens of orchids, tropical fruits, herbal trees and many more. After lunch at a local restaurant, make a stop at Murut Cultural Centre before making a return journey to Kota Kinabalu (ETA 1800). END OF SERVICE.

AT-L07A: 4 Hours: Mari-Mari Cultural Village

Duration: 4 Hours

The village is located about 25 minutes away from Kota Kinabalu. This is an experiential journey to appreciate the culturally diverse communities in Sabah.

ITINERARY: (Note: Meals are own arrangement – unless stated)

Pick up from your hotel to Mari Mari Cultural Village. Upon arrival; register and you will be escorted to visit different types of ethnic houses and experience traditional activities such as the making of blowpipe, starting a fire (without the help of a lighter), tattoo-making (and its symbolisms) and etc. Then proceed to a cultural performance. You have some free time to shop or take some photographs before sampling several traditional delecies. Then a transfer back to your hotel in Kota Kinabalu. END OF SERVICE.
