The community of Dusun Sawah who resides at the edge of the Crocker Range National Park, about 80 kilometres from Kota Kinabalu on the Kimanis-Keningau highway, has established Utan Paradise Kampung-Stay to offer visitors a unique experience of Borneo’s virgin highland rainforest! This unexplored territory undoubtedly will soon become one of the most preferred destinations for Nature Adventure in Borneo.

ITINERARY: (Note: Meals are own arrangement – unless stated)

Meet at the lobby by 0800 and on the way to Utan Paradise Kampung-Stay, make a stop at Papar Town for a quick tour and to purchase supplies (for personal consumption). Upon arrival (ETA 1130), register and attend a briefing on the facilities and rules and regulations of Utan Paradise.  Enjor a traditional lunch and then take part in ‘traditional ritual when entering into the jungle’ before proceeding for a jungle walk to reach Sawa Waterfall (almost 70 feet high). Enjoy a refreshing dip and return to Utan Paradise by 1530. Enjoy a traditional afternoon tea/coffee break. Then proceed for an interpretive walk along Herbs Trail to learn about local herbs and medicinal plants. At 1800 make your way to ‘Sunset Observation Area’ to witness a spectacular view of the sunset at 1300m above sea level where the colour of the skyline changes by the minute. Then a transfer back to Kota Kinabalu. END OF SERVICE.

Day 01

After an early lunch, participate in Tree Planting Programme and then depart for Kota Kinabalu by 1400. END OF SERVICE.

After breakfast, explore the vicinity of Utan Paradise at your own leisure. After an early lunch, participate in Tree Planting Programme and then depart for Kota Kinabalu by 1400. END OF SERVICE.

The night could be cold and even rainy.

Day 03
You may be woken up in a misty morning by the calling sounds of birds and gibbons. After simple breakfast, begin your jungle walk to return to Utan Paradise Lodge. After lunch, participate in Interpretation of Traditional Wine Making using tapioca, pineapple or rice. Guests are free at leisure until dinner. Free activity in the evening and guests may sample the smooth and sweet home-made rice wine.

Day 04
After breakfast, explore the vicinity of Utan Paradise at your own leisure. After an early lunch, participate in Tree Planting Programme and then depart for Kota Kinabalu by 1400. END OF SERVICE.
